Summary: Ever the alien enthusiast, Donghae is convinced that aliens are coming to eat him at night, so he puts the rest of the group on alien patrol
“This is the stupidest thing ever.”
Ryeowook glanced over his shoulder at the man pressed against his back, metal colander covering his head and tongs loosely gripped in his hands. It was almost one o’clock in the morning, yet the two of them were sitting out in the hallway clad in kitchen wear, back to back and on “high alert.” Ryeowook agreed that Donghae putting his members on “alien patrol” every night for the past week and a half was a bit eccentric, but they all agreed that it was better than having the said man running through the dorms screaming “OH MY GOD HYUNG ALIENS ARE TRYING TO EAT ME!!!” every few hours during the night just because he saw a shadow move or heard strange noises from Heechul’s room next door.
The eternal magnae sighed and adjusted the pot covering his own head. “This can’t last for much longer Kyuhyunnie,” he said as he fought back a yawn. “After a few days everything will go back to normal and we can sleep in peace again. But until that happens, I think we owe it to him.”
Kyuhyun’s head snapped to the side, knocking the pot off Ryeowook’s head in the process. “I don’t owe him anything!” he hissed.
“Are you kidding me?” Ryeowook scoffed. “You’re the one who told Donghae that aliens sneak into people’s rooms at night to eat them and got him on this stupid alien kick in the first place! Now shut up before he hears us and thinks we are going to eat him.”
The younger man begrudgingly surrendered to his hyung’s sharp whispers, muttering things like “could be playing freakin Starcraft instead of this crap…” and “why the hell isn’t his boyfriend out here if he wants protection so bad…” until Ryeowook starts to nod off to sleep. His suddenly heavy eyelids slid to a close as the true magnae’s words went on and on, and in no time the beautiful voice had lulled him to sleep.
It happened much faster than Ryeowook expected; before the boy could even fully open his eyes, someone was desperately clutching onto his arms and shaking him back and forth hard enough to give him whiplash.
“Hyung! Hyung wake up!” he heard someone frantically whispering in his ear as their nails dug into his arms.
“Kyuhyun… what the hell?” Ryeowook groaned. The shaking finally stopped long enough for the man to open his eyes completely, and he was met with a very pale Kyuhyun staring over his shoulder at the end of the hall.
“I heard something,” Kyuhyun whispered, smooth voice shaking as much as his quivering hands.
“What are you talking about? I didn’t hear anythi-”
“Kyuhyun what the h-”
“Shut up they’ll hear you!”
The smaller boy could do nothing as his dongsaeng slowly raised his weapon out in front of them with a thin, trembling hand. Things like this didn’t happen after all (Kyuhyun never got scared, and if he did, he never showed it) yet there he was, scared to death and hiding behind Ryeowook (of all people) because he thought he might have heard something. It just didn’t make sense… until Ryeowook heard it too.
Both of them nearly jumped out of their skin at the sound of strangled groaning and muffled banging that came from the end of the hall by Donghae’s room, clawing at each other and scurrying to press themselves against the wall with hushed screams.
The next morning Hankyung staggered out of Heechul’s room, hands gently rubbing the spots where his cheeks had been rubbed raw the previous night despite his wrists being raw as well; Heechul had been sporting a new leather fetish for the past few weeks and he was not going to be the one to protest.
Despite having a very long night, the Chinese man was still the first to wake up as always, which meant that he was the first to see Ryeowook and Kyuhyun asleep in the middle of the hallway with fingers intertwined and clinging to each other for dear life.
